Assemblé in Acrylic

The stage is painted blue

as dancers

twist and turn

with their tight ponytails

and melodic tulle.

Arabesques,

broken bones

and slicked-back bodies;

Pirouettes with

fingers pointed to the stars

far beyond.

Where do they look

when their heads

stop spinning?

Eyes trembling

through a broken

embrace;

tears tracing cheeks

in a pas de deux

as their melody looms

on and on.
