The Fight For Us

To know you is a privilege. To hold you is a kindness. But to love you is all I have ever known. Mornings filled with dripping sunlight across your skin is heavenly. No day, night, or morning will ever go by without loving you as you truly are as you do so effortlessly for me.

You found me when I had nothing to offer you, but you never expected anything in return for the friendship you gave me. Some part of me knew I would always hold you a place within my heart, but that place grew until my whole heart was yours.

Now I spend my days laughing at your jokes, kissing your lips, and craving a lasting forever with you. I will picture you ten years from now waking up in a different bed, different home, but still always with me at your side.

Many have thought we wouldn’t last and yet as each year passing, I can’t help but find myself wondering what the next will bring. This walk you and I travel will never be easy. And although we have our doubts at times, I will always fight for us.
